Heath Frisby Snowmobile Front FlipIf you thought you’d seen it all on a snowmobile, freestyler Heath Frisby has once again proved you wrong. Frisby took home a Winter X Games Snowmobile Best Trick gold medal after he completed the first ever snowmobile front flip in competition on Sunday.

If mustering up the courage to even attempt a trick like that isn’t enough, it happened just moments after friend Justin Hoyer was taken off on a stretcher following a nasty crash when he attempted a double backflip. Hoyer was transported to hospital where he received X-rays on his right arm and left leg.

Frisby has now earned seven X Games medals in his career, including two gold medals in Snowmobile Best Trick. Check out videos of Frisby’s successful front flip and Hoyer’s double backflip attempt below the jump.

PJ Wanderscheid at Eagle River World ChampionshipFlying A Films has put together a four-minute documentary on PJ Wandersheid’s quest for a fifth world championship title at the Eagle River Derby.

Though it’s quite short, the film does a nice job of showing the audience who PJ Wandersheid is. His is a family-run team through and through. The Wandersheids run an Arctic Cat dealership during the week and race Arctic Cat snowmobiles on the weekends. They just so happen to be really good at winning world championships!

Colten Moore CrashColten Moore took home the Snowmobile Freestyle X Games gold after coming back from a nasty looking crash in his second during Heat 1. Colten Moore was joined on the podium his brother Caleb, who earned bronze, and Joe Parsons, who took home silver.

Colten Moore’s scare came when he let go of a double grab high in the air and crashed down hard on the landing. It looked like he was going to land right on his neck, but he managed to duck his head at the last moment and flip over onto his back.

Snowmobiler caught in avalancheA group of snowmobilers were having some fun in the steep and deep in Washington when one of the riders triggered a small avalanche that buried member of the group.

Someone else in the group had the video camera rolling and you can see the one rider just disappear under the snow. Fortunately for everybody, he was quickly spotted and dug out. You can watch it all yourself in the video below.
