It was a busy weekend for the Christian Brothers Racing team, with half traveling to the ISOC Canterbury Snocross in Shakopee, Minn. and the other half hitting the USXC cross-country race in Detroit Lakes, Minn.

The USXC event was held on Big Detroit Lake where the USXC crew had laid out a 10-mile ice lemans course featuring a mix of tight and sweeping corners and flat-out straightaways. It made setting up the Arctic Cat snowmobiles challenging but the CBR crew was able to dial in the machines and set fast times in both Pro classes with Brian Dick taking wins in both the 100-mile Pro Stock race and the 40-mile Pro Open race. In all, the team claimed a total of four of six podium spots – Zach Herfindahl finished third in Pro Stock and Ryan Simons, who swept the previous race at Pine Lake, took second in Pro Open.

Christian Brothers Racing competed this past weekend at the Blackjack National in Bessemer, Mich. for rounds 3-4 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross series.

While Rounds 1-2 at at the Duluth National Snocross took place on a tiny, 22-second track, the highly-technical track at Blackjack boasted two uphill runs, a brutal downhill run and a challenging dogleg which made for lap times in the one-minute range.

Pro Open riders Garth Kaufman and Logan Christian posted top results in Friday’s qualifying and both cruised to a front row spot in the final. After a great start Christian was running in fifth spot but came off in the downhill section and pain in his ribs kept him from getting back on his sled. Kaufman put in a solid run and finished in the eighth spot.

The Christian Brothers snocross racing team did not get off to the strong start it was looking for at the Duluth National Snocross in Duluth, Minn.

Fresh off a Thanksgiving Day of turkey, stuffing and football, fans and racers funneled onto the hill at Spirit Mountain Friday night for the Dominator race, a head-to-head bracket-style elimination event that held a $10,000 check for the winner. CBR riders Logan Christian and Garth Kaufman were eliminated by two riders who ultimately faced each other in the money round.

“The Dominator was a lot of fun,” says Garth Kaufman. “It’s the first race of the season and it helps us get our feet wet and get the sleds dialed in.”

When the green flag drops on the 2013 snowmobile racing season, Drift Racing will be on the gas and at the front thanks to a growing team of racers and crew. Christian Bros. Racing – The Christian Bros. team hits the snocross and cross-country circuits with huge talent and proven champions. As the ISOC Snocross Team of the Year, CBR is poised to be on the podium with pro’s Logan Christian and Garth Kaufman; Junior ripper Evan Christian; plus Tyler Adams, who is new-to-CBR-for-2013 and notched a Junior class victory at last year’s Eagle River Snocross event.

The CBR cross-country juggernaut will return as the undisputed leaders this season, having captured five Pro 600 class victories (out of six) last season. They are led by two-time defending high point champion Ryan Simons and D.J. Ekre, and will be joined by newcomer Zach Herfindahl, who rose to the top of Semi Pro classes last season.

Christian Brothers Racing is one of the most successful snowmobiling racing teams in the world and the folks at Flying A Films recently had a chance to take a look inside the team’s facility in Fertile, Minn.

It’s Logan Christian and Garth Kaufman who really take you through the facility and the video shows them working on their sleds in the garage and then taking them out to the snocross track to get in some testing alongside Tucker Hibbert as they prepare for the upcoming ISOC snocrss race in New York. One unfortunate note is that Logan Christian was hurt just minutes after the Flying A crew left the facility. It seems a belt broke mid flight, causing his sled to nose over. Christian suffered a collapsed and bruised lung and had to spend a night in hospital.
