Was wondering if anyone on here knows how to get to Timmins from Onaping Lake without having to go all the way down and around to the C trail that runs through i believe Chelmsford. I'm wondering if i can follow 144 all the way up to Timmins or some trail that is not on the Sudbury area map.
Thanks Matt 09' Nytro XTX |

You can access the trails at Cartier....closer than Chelmsford. You can ride from Onaping Lake if you cut across Nut Bay. There are beaten trails / Geneva lake crossing that will bring you into Cartier and link you to the mapped trails. I haven't gone that far North from Onaping Lake but you may have issues with fuel. Have fun! I'm heading up in a couple of weeks.

Thanks very much for the info. Two weeks ago i made it up to timmins by following Onaping to the end and there was a broken trail that took you to Westree and then went onto Shining Tree where i got fuel. I took the trail all the way to Timmins, great trail. Stayed over night in timmins and came back on sunday, the only problem was the trail from westree to onaping was blown over and snow covered, barley made it back, definetly haveto take a GPS next time! Going up first week of March so i hope to try you route to Cartier!
