This "Review" reads more like something out a Polaris brochure than an actual review!
I've been a Polaris fan for over 30 years. I've owned many of their sleds over the years and have been generaly happy with the quality of product. From first hand experience, the build quality on these Trail Touring machines is very poor. The cheap plastic that resides everywhere is insulting, and the fit and finish is a joke. These machines are really not meant to last. As for the 550 fan engine, these could be one of worst engines in the industry. Not only are they weak in the power department (compared to the competitions fan motors), the have a terrible reputation for reliablity. Burnt pistons aren't a matter of "if", it's just a matter of when. Just hope you're not in the middle of nowhere when it happens. Polaris/Fuji really needs to scrap this motor and start from a clean slate. Last edited by Alaska Assassin : 12-20-2008 at 05:59 PM. |
