Star Performance is returning to national snocross competition for the upcoming racing season. After a one-year hiatus, Star Performance has teamed with Polaris Industries to contest the 2010 ISOC national snocross tour.

The Star Performance team will consist of three racers competing in the semi-pro super stock, and sport super stock classes. Making their debut on the Star Performance race team are riders Derek Ellis and James Johnstad, and returning to the Star Performance team is rider Kyle Fiebelkorn. Star Performance will position Ellis and Fiebelkorn to pursue the semi-pro super stock championship with Johnstad set to capture the sport super stock title.

Leading the team in the semi-pro super stock class, Ellis is looking to reach the top of the box in 2010 after earning three national podium finishes last season.

“I’m looking forward to having a lot fun racing for Star Performance; I expect to win races this season,” says Ellis.

Fiebelkorn is making his return to Star Performance after one year away from the team.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be back racing for Star Performance with two of my teammates from last season,” says Fiebelkorn. ”I have been with Star Performance since its inception and they have helped me win many races in the past. I am fully confident in their ability to help me reach the top of the podium once again.”

Star Performance is excited to have an amateur rider on the team with as much potential as James Johnstad. At 15 years of age Johnstad capped off the 2009 season by winning both the Junior 14-15 and Junior 16-17 season points championships.

Star Performance is delighted to be back racing snocross once again and is looking forward to working with Polaris Industries.

“Polaris is thrilled to welcome these guys to the program for the upcoming race season and we wish them well and will be excited to see them on the podium this year,” says Tom Rager Sr., Polaris race manager.
