Grooming Workhorse

We purchased the SWT 900 ACE for one purpose. Trail grooming. This sled pulls either a TiddTech 8' wide G2 groomer with electric actuator and battery easily on some pretty sketchy terrain at times. On long steep and slow pulls the cooling fan does just what it's supposed to do. The other post ...about fuel economy does not correspond to our experience. The sled sips gas like a miser. Standard mode works best for grooming. The factory setup was a bit too light on the skis so I tightened the limiters and turning was much better on sharp climbing turns. Read Full Review

Terrible on fuel!!! Not as advertised!

I bought this snowmobile to haul logs for my new cabin in Labrador. They advertised it as "super fuel efficient" and "go anywhere and haul anything." It didn't even begin to meet the expectations I had for it. I took it for the break-in period, and it only got about 180 km on a f...ull tank of premium fuel in high gear! It also seems to have no power for pulling. I took it to the dealer, and they said it performs the way it is supposed to. It also has terrible flotation, despite the way it is advertised as "lowest ground pressure in snowmobiling." But anyway, it is a bad design and a waste of money. A big machine that pulls well, nice transmission. i had to install scratchers as it boiled out antifreeze when i was a day on packed icy snow. they were $90. and easy to install. i went with the 16 inch cable type. I am a trapper. I went through a pair of skis quick from scattered snow conditions th...at came twice after high wind after 28 inches of snow. I bought two new skis at $640. took the skis that got tore up and lind them with 14 n16 gauge steel sheeting. A cost of around $ 120 dollars and about 20 hours of work. I will be using them in the early part of the winter. Those of you changing your own oil , there is two oil plugs for the engine. I have $ 16,000.00 in this machine loaded with bumpers, receivers front and back, and winch. In two years i needed the winch twice badly. As I am usually traveling alone. I carry survival gear for about a week. So all in all its ok, heavy and goes where it wants a lot. Read Full Review
