2006 Yamaha Apec GT

I was looking for my 1st snowmobile at age 54 and was told the Yamaha 4 stroke engines were top notch for performance trail riding and reliability. Bought this 2006 model last winter with 10,000mi for $2600 with new track installed. Rode 350 mi with it last winter and it was a blast! Very quick a...nd fast for me, 97mph per GPS in one foot of snow on lake. Seems to handle well and pretty comfy. My friends 2011 Phazer GT has much softer trail ride and more upright sitting position which was more comfortable overall. (I am 6ft 230lbs) But the engine on this thing kicks butt for a 4 stroke. I also hear these things go 25,000 miles with regular maintenance which is a big plus over 2 strokes. My only real complaint....it has an annoying vibration or buzz at about 30-35mph which really stinks when that's your comfort speed on the trails. Get above 40-45 and it smooths out and just screams acceleration. Hope this helps someone! Read Full Review
