Earlier this winter Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC) and Yamaha Motor Canada co-sponsored a contest to bring the latest sleds in the Yamaha fleet to the organization that opens a day’s worth of riding on Ontario’s snow trails first. The winners were the Sault Trailblazers in Algoma Country.

The dates and routes around the Early Season Power Tour have now been announced. With the tour starting out of Sault Ste. Marie’s new Yamaha dealership – Premier Yamaha Powersports – the group will ride for two days and cover some of the most inspiring sections of the Algoma region’s snowmobile trails.

Directors from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, Yamaha Motor Canada, OTMPC, club volunteers, groomers and local dignitaries will be on hand to congratulate members of the club before they set out on their tour.

A welcome for the press will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 at Premier Yamaha Dealership with all relevant persons on site to answer questions. A lively discussion covering the state of snowmobiling in the North and the resurgence of Algoma’s snowmobile trails will be front and center, as well the story of how the dedication and hard work of volunteers got these trails open in advance of other regions across the province despite daily breakdowns of technical equipment.

Accommodations for all visitors are being provided by the Fairfield Inn & Suites in uptown Sault Ste. Marie and the Searchmont Ski Resort.
