Warnert Racing has announced the signing of two-time Swedish Pro Lite Champion John Stenberg. The 25-year-old Stenberg, of Lofsdalen, Sweden will be joining countryman Johan Lidman on the team while making his debut in the Pro Open class in 2014-15.

Stenberg finished seventh in the Pro Lite class in 2012 and was Ski-Doo’s top rider in the division last season when he finished eighth, collecting two podiums and a number of top-five finishes while racing for Team Bauerly.

John Stenberg“I am super excited for the season,” says Stenberg. I have been in contact with Warnert Team Manager, Ryan Duncan, every since he worked for Bauerlys and I have raced against Johan Lidman since we were both in Juniors. It means a lot to be able to race with him, to practice with him and just hang out. We live a long ways from each other in Sweden but we just talked the other day and are going to get together and train this summer.”

“I’m excited to have John on the team with me for the upcoming season to compete in the Pro Open class,” says Lidman. It’s cool that he is Swedish, of course, and we know each other from before. He is a good rider and deserves a shot in the Pro Open ranks. It will also be beneficial to have another guy on the same equipment on the team to be able to fine-tune and come up with better settings throughout the year. Im looking forward to get 2014-15 started.”

Lidman, who was in the midst of his best season ever in the U.S. before shattering his kneecap in Fargo, ND, is well on his way to complete recovery after surgery in March and has been ramping up his rehab program in recent weeks.
