Kid loves it Pi$$ES me off

bought this sled for my 10 year old its handles great and is the perfect size for him but this sled is finicky..... i mean problematically finicky it does not like starting even less so when its cold getting the carb and jets set right has been mildy rage enducing and some days it will backfire spor...adically and will die at idle..... when it's running properly my son can't get enough but a few months into owning it I'm very much looking forward to my son being ready for a full size that isn't costing me a half hour or more every time out to get it running proper Read Full Review

This ZR 200 is so perfect, it's AWESOME!!

We live in the North Idaho Panhandle, and we bought a 2019 Arctic ZR 200, purple color in January of 2019 new from a surrounding area Arctic Cat Dealer. This sled is the same as the Yamaha SnoScoot 200's. As these little 200's have only been out for two years now, it's hard to find reviews and cus...tomer opinions on these kid sleds, hence the reason for me writing this review on snowmobile.com. My daughter has had her own sled since she was 5 years old, a sweet, custom-made beauty by her Grandpa and Uncle, where they combined a couple old '93 Arctic 440's into one, all-around customized sled that is truly one-of-a-kind which will stay in the family for many kiddos to enjoy. The problem is though, even now at the age of 8, she is just too small to operate this 1993 sled with any amount of confidence. So the wife and I decided to knuckle down and buy the ZR 200 that I've been keeping in the back of my mind for the past year since learning about Arctic and Yamaha joining forces to finally--FINALLY!!--produce a kid sled that is worth buying, to get the little ones in the sport of Snowmobiling, and riding independently. Right from the get-go, I was amazed. The sled is small in size, but perfect for younger kids (our 5 year old daughter also fits perfectly on this sled, and of course our 2 year old boy thinks he should be riding this now too!). Our kids have grown up riding their own toys--starting at the age of 3 on a 50 cc and moving up to a 110 cc ATV at the age of 7--and are very comfortable on their Polaris ATV's. This ZR 200 is a perfect sled that offers our daughter to have complete confidence in riding. Her confidence is building each time we go out, and soon hope to have the same amount of confidence she has on her snowmobile as she does on her ATV. The sled weighs a little over 200 pounds, but does not feel like it; our two daughters together can lift the back up as well as move the front around when they need to turn the sled around, say when they get stuck in a snowbank when trying to turn around. Love all the options about it such as the bright headlights, quick and easy turn-key start, tether switch, handlebars with throttle that resemble kid ATV handlebars (thereby being familiar), and the handlebar grip warmers!! Being only a 93 inch track that is 10 inches wide and only 1 inch lugs this thing surprisingly scoots around in even the deepest snow. This sled has impressed not only myself, but my wife as well. It takes some very deep snow and trenches from my daughter following my wife on her Arctic M7 to get this thing stuck. But being so light and small, it's a breeze to get unstuck: you just lift the darned thing up out of the trench (only need one arm!), have her "pinch it" and off she goes! Would love to see Arctic have other tracks for this sled...let's say one that is longer in the 120 range and has up to 2 inch lugs so the sled can truly grow with the kids as they build up their riding ability! So, what do you say Arctic/Yamaha???? If you are reading this review, maybe you are on the fence about this kids' sled. I say, just jump off the fence and go for it as I wish I had bought her one of these last year for the 2018 season! So far we have gone on rides that were anywhere from 24 miles to 38 miles round trip, riding on both trails and off the trails boon-docking in meadows of 2+ feet fresh pow pow to get to our local warming huts! Not sure what the top speed of this sled is but there were times she was cruising down the trail at 27 mph! Also we are curious how far this sled will go on it's 2.2 gallon gas tank, but our longest trip out was just shy of 40 miles and there was plenty left in the tank. It's about time sled companies start catering to the younger generation and offer options to get families out riding together as it's hard to find the old 1990's Arctic sleds for parts. Hopefully they start making brand new 340 and 440's as a bridge between the youth 200 and the adult 600's! Now, at $4,000 for the ZR 200, it's a pretty penny to get your kids onto their own sled, but well worth it! For us, it'll go through all 3 of our kiddos so it'll get used like crazy for the next 8 years! I think I permanently have a smile stuck on my face just watching my daughter ride on her own sled whether it be on the trails to the warming huts, the neighborhood roads, or a meadow with fresh deep powder! Have always wanted a 120 sled but they are so small and look like they wouldn't be able to handle anything that is not a trail (however I have watched some videos of small kids cruising through powder so maybe the 120 will surprise like the 200 has...) But this little ZR 200, Arctic/Yamaha, you guys have done good by this family! Keep the kid toys coming!! Oh, and to whoever is reading this review, do yourself a favor and buy one of these for your kids to enjoy, you won't regret it!
