Just because spring is near, it doesn’t mean it’s time for everybody to put away their snowmobiles.

The National Speed Association (NSA) Pro Stock Asphalt sled series is gearing up for another summer of racing.

New England Dragway in Epping, NH is hosting three NSA in 2008 as part of the Special Event shows. Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pa. will be hosting its first NSA event, while the Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Md. is ready for its fourth annual event.

As an increases safety measure, the NSA Pro Stock sled series will no longer be competing at tracks that do not have concrete walls. Both Pittsburgh Raceway Park in New Alexandria, Pa. and New York International Raceway Park in Leicester, NY have been left off the schedule in 2008 because they don’t have concrete walls.

Pittsburgh Raceway Park does have its wall upgrade scheduled for the fall plans have been made for the NSA to return in 2009. New York International Raceway Park has recently undergone an ownership change and has planned improvements for the near future. The NSA is hoping to return to Leicester in 2009 as well.

NSA drivers may get the chance to share the stage with some of the finest rubber burners around in 2008. International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) officials have extended an invitation to the NSA for inclusion in a national event. Details are still being finalized.
