Luxery Touring

I bought this sled Dec. 20008, drove it 1000 miles the 2008-2009 season.



This is something very spesial in the 2-Up touring class. Nothing compares to it.

This sled with 170+ hp and its 144" 1.25" 2-ply Cobra track is pure fun to ride. The 144" track is perfect for this power mill.... The passenger back rest and handles are not only for comfort. My sled is an international version, and setup with 62/58 gear and 8" wide saddleless skis.
If my ears didn't stop my smile, the smile on my face would be all around my head during riding.
Performace rating "Great" is not fair for this sled, there should been ten higher ratings to level out the negative ratings.

Coming from a 1999 Thundercat MC this TZ1 mpg gives me the real fun of long saddleback trips. Please do not compare this TZ1 Turbo 170+ hp power mill mpg with a Yamaha Venture Lite, compare to another 170+ hp 2-up sled.

The dissapointment with this US$ 14.500 sled are the RydeFX oil shocks, no spring pre-load adjustment, and the low windscreen.
It is not up to touring standard to use a low windscreen on a touring sled. The high windscreen was on backorder for mostly of the 2008-2009 season.
Due to the RydeFX oil shocks and the low windscreen I will rate the "Value" to less than "Good"

My sled was darting terrible, even with correct ski to-out adjustment. Arctic Cat realy missed with this issue. Darting can be cured with dual runners like Woodys Slim-Jims. Using duallys are like driving with the anchor out.
Due to the darting I will rate the "Ride & Comfort" to "Poor"

2009 is the first year for the TZ1/Z1 Turbo sleds. When launching a new modell there will always be some hidden issues to improve. Arctic Cat came up with a stronger drive belt to sort out the blowing drive belt. Arctic Cat has not issued a fix for rubbing Fuel Tank/Engine issues, yet.
