Ok so i'm writing this to clear up some misconceptions I have heard and read. Let me qualify that I have been riding sleds modified for freeriding for years now, and have recently switched over from polaris.



1) the free ride IS the best stock sled for this genre, bar none.



I have ridden (and s...till own) a 700 polaris modded for freeriding, before polaris made the assault available in a 155 track. I didnt want an assault because it only came in the 144", so I made my own. Freeride came out with the 154" x16 which is even better for floatation than my mod rig.

My freeride has electric start on it, priceless! A must have. I was riding a 700 polaris at 5000-9000 elevation, and now Im riding an 800 etec an 500-5500 elevation so the experience is a little skewed but wooooo the power! who needs a turbo?

Now to banish some rumors, I was told the rear suspension on the freeride was detrimental in deep pow. That's a lie. It's a totally an upgrade, does just as good in the pow as any other sled i've ridden, plus the cush and control on the trail and in the woop woops.

I've read the 2011 was just a heavier summit and wasn't and improvement and the 2012 was a much better all new sled. Lie. It's the SAME sled. 2013 has a new color but specs and mechanics its STILL the same sled. all in all this is the best sled i have owned to date it rocks Read Full Review
