    Best Trail Snow Machine made
    By Kurt(Owner), Dec. 14, 2009
Having owned snowmachines since the 60's, the Yamaha VK professional (mine is the 2006) is the finest trail machine ever. It is bullet-proof. Have never seen on even brokken down for any reason other then riding it where it shouldn't be (boon docking) and it's occassional plug fowling. ANy proble...ms with mechanicals is unhear of. I truly suspect the ones who have mechanical problems have not performed the proper maintenance and/or are not familiar with how to use this snowmachine.

    VK Pro Suspension Problems
    By Shannon Sweetland(Owner), Mar. 7, 2009
I have owned a VK professional for 8 weeks. I bought it used from a local dealer. I researched the machine before buying it and found very little negative reviews. So I purcahsed it with full confidence. I was a fool. Three weeks after owning the machine with very little rough riding the rear suspen...sion collapsed. Bracket 2 (H Bracket) bent which caused the relay rods to snap. After talking to a number of local people who ride this machine I found that this is a common problem which Yamaha has failed to rectify. In addition, the VK Pro has had and continues to have problems with all their brackets in their suspension system. They have updated the suspension but there has been no recall. Yamaha stopped giving `good will` fixes for this problem since April 2008.

In addition, once I had repaired the suspension I had another problem. The engine died leaving me stranded on the trail. The only thing that gave me any hope about the snowmobile was that it had a reliable engine. Again I was fooled. I have not yet found out the problem to this recent failure. I have lost all confidence in this machine.

If anyone can relate to these problems please relay them to me or post them to a blog. I`m sick of seeing the praises of this machine when I know the difference. At least people who research their snowmobile before purchasing can be warned of its problems.

Bottom Line... 8 weeks, 3 break downs. I have a VK lemon.
