Polaris gave us all a taste last year of its new Maytrix platform, but that was limited to SnowCheck-exclusive models. That all changes now as the 2022 Polaris snowmobile lineup features 22 new sleds built on that Matryx platform. Oh yeah…Polaris also unveiled a new 2-stroke, turbocharged Patriot Boost engine!

So what is new for the 2022 Polaris model year? Let’s start with the Indy family, where the new Indy XCR gets the Matryx treatment. The Indy XCR is a racing-focused snowmobile designed to see checkered flags.

For crossover riders, the new 2022 Polaris Switchback XC is designed to offer next level handling and performance on the trails and off and it comes with the standard IGX rear suspension and Fox QS3 shocks and a pair of engine choices.

Mountain riders will be excited to learn about the new 2022 Polaris RMK Matryx and RMK Matryx Slash platforms, designed to take on the steep and deep.

As for the new Patriot Boost engine, it looks like a monster. It is a turbocharged version of the 850 Patriot and Polaris says the Patriot Boost produces 10% more power than the 850 Patriot at sea level and 50% more power at 10,000 feet of elevation. All told, it offers up to 9 PSI of neck-snapping turbo boost.
