Take An Avalanche Class First

A basic avalanche class will teach you how to properly use the equipment in your avalanche pack, including how to use a beacon to find a buried rider or for a multi-person burial. These classes also provide helpful hints for how to deal with an emergency situation (i.e. how to use your probe as a stint for a broken leg or arm).
