Wear Lighter Gear And Bring Extras

While I was used to layering up for trail riding in Canada, my mountain riding friends advised me to purchase unlined gear and wear only base layers underneath. Despite the lack of layers, I found that I worked up quite the sweat when maneuvering my snowmobile across mountain terrain.

• Pack thick and thin balaclavas, as the trail ride to and from the mountain can be chilly. • Bring an extra pair of gloves. I learned you don’t necessarily need a bulky pair of gloves, thinner ones should do the trick just fine and will allow you to handle the controls on your sled easier. • Pack tinted and clear goggles in case you get stuck on the mountain after dark.
