Awesome Machine!!

I bought a brand new 2007 m8 153" back in August of 2008. Im 5'10" 150lbs. Ive only been riding for only 3 years but feel like Ive put this thing through hell and back mainly due to the type of terrain and the folks I ride with. In the back yard we have everything from 30' drops to 150' hi...llclimbs (STEEP) to ducking and dodging trees in 3 ft. of fresh or spring snow. Just varies on the time of year.
Durability: First off I gotta give props to the durability of the susuki 800 engine. Its withstood all many of my endeavors (and f**kups) and severe bashings. Ive smacked trees, rocks, rolled it several dozen times down spring snow, and not had one single problem with the engine...NOT ONE. The only engine mods Ive done are a timbersled intake and full SLP exhaust which helped a lot with low and high end power. Could not be happier with engine performance.
If I had to rate the overall durability of the machine, I have to admit Im impressed with its resiliency. I went through a rock/tree bashing phase (probably still in that phase) and had to order new a-arms for both sides only to go out and bash them all up again. My riding buddy and I finally just started welding braces on the a-arms to make them stronger to those sneaky rocks. Basically what Im trying to say is these things were not meant to bash in rocks and trees and stumps so if you can avoid those you'll be totally ok.
Performance: Deep snow handling is what I bought this thing for. The '07 m8 was 490 lbs. from the factory!! Thats a lot now-a-days. Ive dropped that down to about 460 lbs. with more power. I love the way it handles in deep snow. Sometimes I wish I had a longer track and a turbo to get to some places I cant get to. But as far as the power and spunky-ness that this thing has with the few mods Ive done, you cant ask for anything more.
Ride/Comfort: I agree with the previous review in with the handlebars and seat are too low. Also the stock foot tunnels dont get rid of the snow very well. Ive changed all that anyway with a few mods. But this thing wasnt meant to sit down and dink around on. It was build to pin the throttle, hold the f**k on, and hope you come down the mountain with it!! My mods include:

Lefty throttle
Timbersled intake
Full SLP exhaust
3 in. handlebar riser
2010 m8 seat (the lighter, higher one)
Simmons Skis
Snow Eliminator
Rear 2 wheel bogey kit
Anti-slop steering support
Improved venting

Overall, I havent really done anything but bash this thing into little pieces, put in back together with bailing wire and duck tape and bash it into the ground again. its such a trooper and everything I could have asked for in a sled. Simply Kickass Sled

I've been riding it for three years now and whenever I sidehill it I feel like it's saying, "come on, wuss, let's go to the top! Whaddya skeered?!" It begs to be ridden harder and go places I don't really want to go. I want to have RK Tek port it and install cheater heads on it then put... an SLP or Speedwerx Y-pipe, pipe and can on it but it's been so reliable and dependable (knock on wood) that I'm reluctant to mess with it. So far I've only added an Ole's Machine 3-inch riser block for $45 and it makes a big difference on my back. I'm 5'8" and 3-inches is his most popular height and it's the highest you can go without having to change hoses and cables. The next change I want to do is the tallest Boss seat they make, I tried one and it was much easier on my knees but it was as hard as a rock; however I was told they need to be broken in. The stock seat is good for a passenger for short trips but it's just too low! I didn't like the Sly Dog skis at all, I put the stock ones back on, they are good all-around skis.
